Reaching Millions with Hope: Christian Radio Ministry in South Sudan
Faith travels further than we sometimes imagine. In the remote corners of South Sudan and northern Uganda, millions of families are isolated by geography and the painful memory of war. Through Imprint Radio, our faith-based radio outreach, we are sending the hope of Jesus Christ directly into their homes, fields, and refugee camps. Broadcasting daily under the theme “Teach for Jesus Christ,” Imprint Radio brings biblical teaching and encouragement to communities across the region.
The challenge
Years of civil conflict have left deep, invisible wounds across East Africa. In many isolated villages of Eastern Equatoria State and inside northern Uganda’s refugee camps, local churches do not exist. For young people affected by conflict and displacement, trauma, anxiety, and limited access to support can create significant challenges. Radio provides RMC with a way to reach people even in communities where other forms of support may be difficult to access.
What we are doing
We believe that hope should have a clear and constant voice. With the generous support of our partners at CMML, we successfully built a new 75-meter radio tower. This expansion allows our South Sudan radio ministry to reach approximately 1.8 million refugees and displaced individuals across the region.
Our station, Imprint Radio (101.5 FM), broadcasts daily, playing live programs, pre-recorded messages, and streaming online. Our programs feature trusted biblical teaching from Pastor Nathan Hamre, John MacArthur, Dr. David Jeremiah, and Pan American. But our work goes beyond spiritual education. Every Sunday, we partner with Nimule Hospital doctors to broadcast weekly health programs that teach families about HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, and preventing gender-based violence. By installing two new 10KVA lithium batteries, we stabilized our station’s power and reduced generator fuel costs from $800 to $600.
To ensure the most isolated communities can hear us, we partnered with Galcom to distribute 3,000 solar-powered radios across ten remote villages, including Longu, Biyo, Matara, Olikwi, Buruwa, and Fuli East, as well as refugee camps like Pagirinya, Majii, and Boroli.
Furthermore, we do more than just broadcast; we listen. When young people call our station in crisis, our mobile intervention team responds immediately. They provide emotional support, safe transportation, and direct connections to professional counseling at the F.I.S.H. Academy.
Impact
Through Imprint Radio, RMC Ministries is expanding access to biblical teaching, counseling, health education, and community support:
Broadening our reach: We now share messages of hope and education with an estimated 1.8 million displaced people.
A lifeline of prayer: In a single three-month period, our presenters responded to 2,520 live calls and brought 720 individual prayer requests before the Lord.
Developing young leaders: We have trained F.I.S.H. Academy students to serve as radio presenters, equipping them with professional skills and leadership opportunities.
Trauma support and spiritual guidance: The station provides continuous trauma counseling, helps reconcile families, and leads many listeners to a saving faith in Christ.
Why it matters
Every person deserves to be treated with human dignity and to know they are not forgotten by God. Our Christian radio ministry in South Sudan goes where physical buildings cannot, fulfilling the Great Commission to “reach, teach, and disciple” all nations. By combining faithful Scripture preaching with health education and mental health support, we are fostering community involvement, peace, and deep spiritual transformation.
How you can help
You can help keep hope on the airwaves. Right now, construction on our new transmission and radio room is in its final stage, and we need additional resources to finish the work. Your partnership helps cover broadcasting costs, supports our mobile crisis response, and provides the equipment and infrastructure needed to keep Imprint Radio on the air.
